About CHOC Fit
The past few years brought huge stresses and unexpected change. It altered our lives in ways we couldn’t image. It also challenged us to find and bring you the best resources – to bring you what you need to thrive.
In 2023, CHOC Fit is providing new and enhanced services:
- We’ve added personal coaching. During confidential one-on-one phone sessions, Virgin Pulse coaches will help you manage your emotional, mental, and physical health to build resilience and grow your wellbeing.
- Our updated suite of services, listed below, will help you find your center and focus on you. We will meet you where you are on your personal journey, whether you’re looking for lifestyle support in areas like stress or burnout or whether you need support for managing a chronic condition or weight or pain management.

Why should I join CHOC Fit?
In addition to seeing health improvements, participants can earn wellbeing rewards for completing activities. CHOC Fit offers incentives to all eligible associates and spouses/domestic partners.
Associates enrolled in the medical plan can earn up to a $300 discount on their medical premiums depending on the number of activities completed and rewards earned.
Associates not enrolled in CHOC’s medical plan, as well as all eligible spouses/domestic partners can earn PulseCash rewards, which can be redeemed on the Virgin Pulse platform for items like fitness tracking devices, yoga mats, and headphones. The more activities you complete, the more rewards you earn.
Who is eligible for CHOC Fit?
CHOC Fit is open to all benefit-eligible associates, as well as their spouses or registered domestic partners. To participate, spouses or registered domestic partners must be identified as a dependent on your Workday profile. Learn how to add a dependent.
How do I get started with CHOC Fit?

View the Virgin Pulse Program Guide for instructions on how to enroll, connect a fitness tracker, take the health check, and earning rewards. In the program guide, you’ll learn more about each of the services offered, including personal lifestyle coaching, mental health assistance, weight or pain management, maternity/parenting resources, nutrition, and virtual fitness classes. To register with Virgin Pulse, you’ll need your Employee ID number, and for spouses/domestic partners, they’ll enter your Employee ID number followed by an S at the end (i.e., 1234S).
When will I receive my wellbeing rewards?
If you earn 70,000 points by December 16, the credit will be reflected in your first paycheck in January 2023.
Is my information kept private?
Your personal information and health data are not shared with CHOC.

Through personal sessions held over the phone, your coach will help you reach your goals by establishing small, meaningful steps to manage issues and achieve progress toward a happier, healthier, and more centered you. Managing pain?
Just 15 minutes a day is all it takes to help manage joint pain and get on the road to a stronger you. Kaia Health’s program combines a variety of mobility, strengthening, breathing and wellness exercises for back, shoulder, neck, hip, knee or osteoarthritis pain. Built-in computer vision technology provides corrective exercise feedback in real-time using your mobile device or tablet camera (no additional hardware is required) to ensure your form or posture is correct.

How’s your health?
When was the last time you had a health assessment? The Health Check offered under the Virgin Pulse platform asks questions about your current health status and wellbeing habits, providing you with your health score, possible health risks, and practical health tips to help you maintain and improve your wellbeing. You’ll find the survey under the Health tab.
Next step would be to get vital health information by taking biometric screening at a Quest Diagnostics lab. Biometric screenings provide immediate feedback about your risk for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and other chronic conditions. Schedule a convenient 10-minute appointment at a Quest Diagnostics lab to get a 36 CHEM Panel report, which includes key health measures such as blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and count, BMI, liver enzymes, and calcium.

Your mental wellbeing matters and taking care of it is more important than ever.
